Diocesan Retreat for the Preparation of Quinceañeras

For us as Christians the Quinceañera Celebration is not only a social party; that is why we ask the Parish for a religious celebration so that we may prepare ourselves spiritually.  Some of the subject matter that will be discussed will be very important for youth and adults. Parents must attend the retreat with the young ladies.

Objective: To reflect on the religious traditions, the virtues of family, and the social responsibility that today’s quinceañera celebration embraces. To reflect on the Christian responsibility as a youth.

Four Diocesan quinceañera retreats are held per year for the young ladies and parents. This retreat does not replace the formation that is provided at the parish. The retreats are held at different locations.
 

For a Quinceañera celebration

Steps to follow:

• Meet with the parish priest or person in charge of the formation program for quinceañeras at least 6 or 5 months in advance to establish a date and to see if the requirements are met.
• Have done your First Communion. 
• Have been Confirmed or be enroll in the Confirmation Program of your parish.
• Participate in the parish preparation and in one (1) of the  Diocesan retreats for Quinceañeras.

For the Mass:

• In the entrance procession, there will only be the quinceañera and her parents.
• The dress of the quinceañera for the Mass must be as simple as possible, it must not show cleavage.
• Do not take limousines to Church.
• Have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation to be able to receive Holy Communion.

In person retreat: $30.00

Virtual retreat: $15.00
